About the brand
One of the symbols of Italian cuisine with 160 years of history!
Cirio tomatoes are 100% Italian - grown and processed rigorously at every stage of production under the strict supervision of farmers and technologists ensuring natural quality and unique taste.
Authentic Italian taste
Italian cuisine is one of the most revered in the world, and some dishes have remained unchanged in time since the years of the Roman Empire (e.g. polenta).
Originally imported from America, pomodori tomatoes, also known as 'golden apples', are proving extremely favourable for growing in Italy's subtropical climate and are fast becoming a traditional ingredient of everyday Italian cuisine.
Cirio is the carrier of the authentic Italian taste.
Since 2004 Cirio has been part of the "Conserva Italia Group", an agricultural cooperation involving more than 13,000 farmers with integrated agricultural areas and production systems near the factories where the finished product is processed.
Production is carried out according to the requirements for control and transparency of the entire chain including sowing, processing and packaging of the product, thus guaranteeing its natural freshness and unparalleled quality.

Cirio is the taste of the true tomato associated with tradition, health and natural living that has made the Italian love of food an emblem for generations around the world.
The founder, Francesco Chirio, was born in Nice Monferrato (Kingdom of Sardinia) into a poor and illiterate family. Barely at the age of 14, he went to the capital of the kingdom, Turin, where he started selling vegetables in the market of Porta Palazzo.
In 1856, with his characteristic enterprise, he found a way to transport his produce to other towns and markets by storing it in tin boxes. This was the beginning of the idea of industrial preservation of foodstuffs. He set up his own company and a few years later opened his first factory in Turin.
Thus began a new era in Italian food tradition, in which Cirio products became a staple in every household in the Apennines, while the Italian tomato is becoming popular in the most remote corners of the globe.
